INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS FOR UNIX
----------------------------------

1. Ensure you are active as the root user.

2. Change the working directory to a read/writable directory.

3. Download the <platform>ptf010202.tar file.
   The value of <platform> is aix for AIX,
                              win for Windows,
                              sun for Solaris, and
                              linux for Linux.

   See aparlist.txt for the list and description of fixes that are
   included in this PTF.

4. Untar the downloaded file, e.g.
   tar -xvf <platform>ptr010202.tar

5. Stop DB2 and the DB2 XML Extender.

6. On AIX, issue "slibclean" to clean out all cached copies of the
   shared libraries.

7. Replace the appropriate db2xml and db2xmlfn files in the XML
   Extender installation lib directory with the new files provided
   in this PTF.
   AIX     - libdb2xml.a & db2xmlfn.a   in /usr/lpp/db2xml_07_01/lib
   linux   - db2xml & db2xmlfn          in /usr/IBMdb2xml/V7.1/lib
   solaris - libdb2xml.so & db2xmlfn.so in /opt/IBMdb2xml/V7.1/lib

8. Replace the existing bnd files in the appropriate XML Extender
   installation bnd directory with the replacement bnd files.

9. Rebind your databases with the new bnd files using dxxbind.lst.


INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS FOR WINDOWS
-------------------------------------
    
1. Download the winptf010202.zip file.

   See aparlist.txt for the list and description of fixes that are
   included in this PTF.

2. Unzip the ntptf010202.zip file using a zip program such as WINZIP.

3. Stop DB2 and the DB2 XML Extender.
 
4. Replace the db2xmlfn.dll and db2xml.dll in the XML Extender
   installation bin directory with the replacement files.

5. Replace the bnd files in the XML Extender installation bnd
   directory with the replacement files.

6. Rebind your databases with the new bnd files using dxxbind.lst.
