1. Download Installation Documentation ZIP File

The Installation Documentation ZIP file contains all documentation required for a successful installation, including information on third-party system requirements.

Download the Installation Documentation ZIP file, located below the Start Here file on the Software Download page.
Unzip all of the installation documentation files included.
Print the installation documentation for ease of reference.

Installation Documentation ZIP File Contents

This file contains the following documents:

eas_install_checklist.pdf	Provides a high-level list of tasks to install and set up Essbase XTD Administration Services.
eas_install.pdf	Provides detailed procedures for installing Essbase XTD Administration Services.
eas_readme.htm	Late-breaking information about Essbase XTD Administration Services.
eas653_addendum.htm	Documentation for new features introduced in this release.
eas653_cover_letter.pdf	Welcome and product overview.

Notes:

System requirements and compatibility with OLAP Server release levels are described in the Installation Guide. Verify all requirements before installation.
After installing the software, you can access the Information Map, which contains links to all installed product documentation. The Information Map is located in the /eas directory of your Essbase XTD Administration Services installation. Open launcher.htm in this directory.

2. Download Product Documentation ZIP File (Optional)

Essbase XTD Administration Services provides an optional Product Documentation ZIP file that contains all of the documentation not included in the Installation Documentation ZIP file. This step is optional because the product documentation is still installed with each Essbase XTD Administration Services software installation. This documentation has not been updated for this release. Only the installation documentation and the readme file have been updated.

Note: The Product Documentation ZIP is a 12 MB file.

Download the Product Documentation ZIP file, located below the Installation Documentation ZIP file on the Software Download page.
Unzip the product documentation files to a directory you choose.
In the /easdocs directory, launch eas_infomap.htm to access the unzipped product documentation.

3. Download Essbase XTD Administration Services Software Files

Download Software Files

Create a temporary directory on your local machine for copying files.
Select the appropriate file for your platform and download the file.
For Windows platforms, launch the installer by double-clicking the file or typing the name of the file (without the extension) from a command prompt.
To untar a downloaded UNIX file:
- Enter the following command from the temporary directory containing the .tar file:
  tar -xf filename
  This extracts the executable .bin file necessary for a complete installation.
- Launch the installer (.bin) file.
Refer to the Essbase XTD Administration Services Installation Guide to complete the installation.
After the installation is complete, delete the entire temporary directory.

eas653_solaris.tar	Compressed file containing the `.bin` file required to install Essbase XTD Administration Services on Solaris
