=================================================================== DB2 OLAP Server Analyzer V8.1 -- Refreshed FixPak 2 December 2002 Service level: Hyperion Analyzer 6.2.1.00470 =================================================================== Recommendations for Windows and UNIX installations: 1) In the Installation Notes, the following 2 options are described so that you can have your Analyzer v6.1.1 reports and Report Groups available in Analyzer v6.2.1. 1) Backup ANALYZ60 database through the RDBMS and during FP2 installation, point Analyzer 6.2.1 to use the existing ANALYZ60 database instead of creating a new repository (default called ANALYZ62). Once the reports are opened in v6.2.1, auto-migration will occur. or 2) In Analyzer v6.1.1, do FILE > EXPORT > REPORTS (or REPORT GROUPS) and save the reports/report groups definitions on hard drive. After performing clean up steps as stated in the "Installing the FixPak on Windows" and "Installing the FixPak on UNIX" section, install FixPak2 and after logging in, do FILE > IMPORT > REPORTS (or REPORT GROUPS). Once the reports are opened in v6.2.1, auto-migration will occur. If you are going to follow option 2 above, note that users and user groups cannot be exported from v6.1.1 and imported into v6.2.1. Instead, you need to redefine user groups after you install FixPak 2. If you need to create a new database called ANALYZ62, copy the existing ANALYZ60 database and rename the copied database ANALYZ62. All the reports, report groups, users, and user groups will be available instantly without exporting and importing. 2) On UNIX, ensure that the values of the environment variables are set to a format similar to <>=<> such as PATH=some_value. If you do not use this format, the Analyzer FixPak2 installation program initialization will show the following error: "Exception Encountered: java.lang.StringIndexOutOfBoundsException: String index out of range: -1 "
