Essbase® Enterprise Services enables you to deliver Essbase applications to large user communities. Essbase Enterprise Services is a middle tier product that provides a web-enabled, distributed platform for Essbase applications. Essbase Enterprise Services brings Essbase to the masses by providing the following features:

• Access to Essbase applications 24 hours a day, 7 days a week through clustering of servers, replication of data, connection pooling, load balancing, and failover support

• Single sign-on to a domain of servers

• Events and messaging services

• Support for Common Object Request Broker Architecture (CORBA), Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP), and Enterprise Java Beans (EJB) protocols

• Essbase Enterprise Services Java API

The Essbase Enterprise Services Console is a graphical user interface for performing administrative tasks and management of Essbase Enterprise Services and Essbase servers. It simplifies the task of maintaining Essbase Enterprise Services by providing a graphical view of Essbase Enterprise Services server clusters. It enables Essbase administrators and users, based on access rights, to perform the following tasks:

• Add, delete, and modify Essbase Enterprise Services servers and their properties

• Add, delete, and modify Essbase servers and their properties

• Create user names and passwords

• Create domains and groups
