The Essbase Enterprise Services Console help system includes three primary types of help topics:
Procedural topics provide step-by-step instructions for completing tasks in Essbase Enterprise Services Console; for example, Creating Users.
Process topics contain a list of links to procedures that, as a unit, complete a broader user task; for example, Overview of Essbase Enterprise Services Tasks.
Descriptive topics document the Essbase Enterprise Services Console user interface; for example, The Essbase Enterprise Services Console Window.
Each type of help topic is structured differently, according to the type of information provided. Help topics include several features that help you access information easily.
Some topics contain links to other help topics within the Essbase Enterprise Services Console online help system. When you click these links, the destination topic replaces the currently open topic in the browser window. When you finish reading the linked topic, you can click the browser's Back button to return to the previous topic.
Some topics contain links to pop-up windows. When you click these links, the destination topic opens in a pop-up window inside the same window you have open. When you finish reading the pop-up topic, click outside the pop-up window to close it.
Some topics contain links to other Hyperion Essbase documentation, such as the Hyperion Essbase Enterprise Services Installation Guide. When you click these links, the destination topic opens in a new browser window. This enables you to keep your place in the Essbase Enterprise Services Console help system while browsing the external documentation in a different browser.
Related topics link to relevant information to the current topic. If more than one related topic exists, then a list is displayed in a pop-up window. Select the related topic you want to view.
