Creating Domains

A domain is a logical grouping of objects, such as users, groups, and servers. Domains can consist of other domains. A distributed environment can consist of several domains. You create domains to manage the various Essbase Enterprise Services and Essbase servers in your distributed environment.

To create a domain:

  1. In the navigation panel of the Essbase Enterprise Services Console, select a domain, then right-click.

  2. From the right-click menu, select Create > Domain. A dialog box to type a domain name is displayed.

  3. In the text box, type the name of the domain.

  4. Click OK. A domain with the name you specified is displayed under Domains in the navigation panel.

  5. Select the domain you created. The properties of the domain are displayed in the workspace panel.

  6. In the workspace panel, edit the following fields, if applicable:

  7. Click Save to save the domain's properties.

Note: If you had changed any values since your initial settings, click Refresh to update values on the server.
