Run 'db2iupdt' as follows: ./db2iupdt where is the name of an existing DB2 instance. We need to run this for all the instances that use NSE. c. Logout. Installation on Windows: ======================== Fixpack install has to uninstall the existing NSE first. 1. Copy the Net Search Extender package file to an empty directory. Change to this directory and execute the file. 2. Run the 'setup.exe' in windows\install and follow the instructions of the install program. 3. Reboot the system after the installation. 4. To de-install the product use the "Add/Remove Programs" icon in the Control Panel. KNOWN LIMITATIONS: ================== *) When we include the THEASURUS keyword on NSE search query, for the first run the query fails and do as not release the lock for the NSE index HTMLIDX. The subsequent runs will be success. This limitation is noticed only on the Windows32 platform. Since the NSE sample has a THEASURUS keyword in it's search queries, it is observed that the NSE sample clean-up takes more time to complete the run for the first time. This can be avoided by releasing all the remaining locks before processing the sample clean-up, by following the steps below: Step # 1 View a lock snapshot by using one of the following commands- - For a single text index: db2text CONTROL LIST ALL LOCKS FOR DATABASE INDEX - For all the locked text indexes of a database: db2text CONTROL LIST ALL LOCKS FOR DATABASE Step # 2 Release the locks forcefully- - db2text CONTROL CLEAR ALL LOCKS FOR DATABASE INDEX NOTE: Before clearing the locks we need to ensure that there is no index update active on the index. Clearing the locks of an index which is currently being updated can result in an index corruption. Step #3 - Run the NSE sample clean-up. If we don't follow the lock release steps before NSE sample clean-up it is expected to take a few more additional minutes to complete the clean-up.
