The directory names may appear in uppercase or lowercase, depending on your operating system. 2. As not all of the language directories are available, some of those listed above may not appear on this CD-ROM. 3. In case of a download package you will only see one operating system in the directory you have saved the package. Installing from the CD-ROM Installation on UNIX: ===================== 1. Log in at the target machine as the 'root' user. 2. Execute the setup script for your platform: cd /cdrom/ and then call ./nsesetup.sh 3. Follow the instruction during nsesetup processing 4. If you have existing DB2 instances that need to be updated to use Net Search Extender, you must also do the following steps for each of those instances: a. Login as the 'root' user. b. Depending on the platform, enter one of the following commands: For AIX: cd /usr/opt/db2_08_01/instance For all other UNIX platforms: cd /opt/IBM/db2/V8.1/instance c. Run 'db2iupdt' as follows: ./db2iupdt where is an existing DB2 instance d. Logout. Note: After you have installed Net Search Extender, any new DB2 instances created with db2icrt will be automatically enabled for Net Search Extender usage. No additional setup is necessary. Installation on Windows: ======================== 1. Use the 'setup.exe' in x:\windows\install to transfer the files from the package to the target machine. 2. Reboot the system after data transfer. 3. To deinstall the product use the "Add/Remove Programs" icon in the Control Panel.
