PTF IP22974 fixes APAR IC57068 for DB2 Net Search Extender The fix requires that DB2 Net Search Extender V8 FP15 is installed. If your system shows the error described in the APAR, and is at a lower fixpack level, you have to upgrade first. Description of the error situation, where this fix is applicable: Running db2text enable database for text connect to DBNAME user USER using PASSWORD results in an SQL0569N error, if there is a group in the system with the same name as the user USER. After this fix has been installed, the error will no longer occur. How to install the fix :- 1) Stop NSE services for all DB2 instances that are using NSE db2text stop (you have to run this command logged in as the instance owner for each instance) 2) log in as the root user and run slibclean 3) Still logged in as root, rename the following 3 libs in /usr/opt/db2_08_01/ lib64/libcteadmci.a lib64/libcteutil.a function64/cteadm to their original name with an additional suffix, like '.orig'. copy the 3 libraries contained in this PTF to /usr/opt/db2_08_01/lib64 and /usr/opt/db2_08_01/lib64, respectively, then, for each of the three libraries, run chown bin:bin chmod ugo+r 4) Log in as the instance owner, and start NSE services using db2text start. 5) To verify the correct operation of the fix, run nsesample on the database that could not be enabled before (for details see the Net Search Extender Admin Guide)
