Fixes to the documentation

This section contains fixes to the documentation. Each fix describes the name and location of the topic and the error in the documentation

In the "Command line scripts for the DB2 Everyplace Sync Server" topic under the Reference section of the Sync Server Administration Guide and the Information Center, the following fixes are needed:

  1. The section on "DB2 Everyplace instance administration commands location" is no longer applicable to the DB2 Everyplace version 8.2 release.
  2. In the "Commands for UNIX, Linux, and Windows" table, the following commands are no longer available:
  3. All of the commands in the "DB2 Everyplace Sync Server instance administration scripts" table are no longer available.

In the Configuring DB2 Everyplace section of the Installation and User's Guide, the following topic is missing:

Configuring DB2 Everyplace in WebSphere Application Server

Prerequisites:

Install DB2 Everyplace files.

The DB2 Everyplace application server is created by the following steps, with the appropriate configuration parameters. If a copy of the DB2 Everyplace server is already running, stop the server before continuing.

To configure DB2 Everyplace in WebSphere Application Server:

  1. Use the configuration wizard to perform a basic configuration of DB2 Everyplace.
  2. Make sure DB2 Everyplace Sync Server is not running. If the Sync Server is running, enter the following command to stop it.

    Windows
    %DSYINSTDIR%\Server\bin\dsysyncstop.bat
    Linux or UNIX
    $DSYINSTDIR/Server/bin/dsysyncstop.sh
  3. Create the DB2 Everyplace application server.

    Windows

    1. Change to the %DSYINSTDIR%\config\was directory.
    2. Run wsadmin.bat.

      <WAS_HOME>\bin\wsadmin.bat -f dsyInstallDB2e.jacl WAS_node_name WAS_virtual_host existing_server_name IP_address DSYINSTDIR DSYSQLIBINSTDIR UDB_version

      • WAS_node_name is the existing WebSphere node name for DB2 Everyplace installation
      • WAS_virtual_host is the existing WebSphere virtual host name
      • existing_server_name is the DB2 Everyplace server name
      • IP_address is a valid IP address or host name for the server
      • DSYINSTDIR is the DB2 Everyplace instance installation directory. If the directory name includes spaces, put quotation marks around it.
      • DSYSQLIBINSTDIR is the DB2 UDB installation directory. If the directory name includes spaces, put quotation marks around it.
      • UDB_version is the DB2 UDB version. Use 7 or 8.

    Linux or UNIX

    1. Change to the $DSYINSTDIR%\config\was directory.
    2. Run wsadmin.sh.
