Enabling a database for spatial operations

To find out what authorization is required to enable a database for spatial operations, see Authorization.

To enable a database for spatial operations from the Control Center:

1. From the Control Center window, expand the object tree until you find the Databases folder under the server where you want DB2 Spatial Extender to run.
2. Click the Databases folder. The databases are displayed in the contents pane on the right side of the window.
3. Right-click the database that you want, and click Spatial Extender --> Enable in the pop-up menu. DB2 Spatial Extender supplies the database with the resources that allow you to create and work with spatial columns and data.
