You can perform DB2 database administration tasks from any workstation. It does not matter whether your databases are local or remote. You can choose to have a dedicated database administrator system for all your databases. You can even administer your databases from a Web browser.

DB2 includes graphical tools that allow you to tune performance, access remote DB2 servers, manage all servers from a single site, develop applications, and process SQL queries:

• The Control Center provides a convenient way to handle the day-to-day tasks of database administration. In the Control Center, you get a hierarchical view of all your systems, databases, and database objects. This makes it easy to configure your system, create database objects, and monitor your databases.

• The Satellite Administration Center allows you to administer DB2 Satellite servers. DB2 Universal Database Satellite Edition is a full-function, high-performance edition of DB2 for mobile occasionally connected users and unattended remote servers.

• The DB2 Everywhere Administration Center is available to administer your DB2 Everywhere Sync Servers. DB2 Everywhere is a scaled-down database for handheld computing devices.
