With the Data Warehouse Center, you can design processes visually. A process
is a series of steps that operate on source data, changing it from its original
form into a form conducive to decision support.
Click Show me to see how to design a process.
Use the Process Model window to add a source to your process. You add sources to a process to specify the data that is to be transformed in the process. Click Show me to see how to add a source.
Now that the source is defined, add a target to the process. Warehouse targets represent the warehouse data. Click Show me to see how to add a target.
After you add the target, add a step to the process. A step represents how the data is transformed from its source format to its target format. Click Show me to see how to add a step.
Now, indicate the flow of the data. Click Show me to see how to indicate data flow.
A data warehouse is a database that consists of cleansed, reconciled,
and enhanced data integrated into logical business subject areas for the
purpose of improving decision making. The Data Warehouse Center component
of DB2 Universal Database simplifies the process of designing, building,
and maintaining data warehouses and accelerates the delivery of information
to your departments and decision makers. The SQL optimization capability
of DB2 Universal Database provides the fastest possible execution of SQL
queries, so that data warehousing operations that involve the use of SQL
to extract, move, transform, and load your data are handled most efficiently. Building and maintaining a data warehouse is a multistep process. Click a topic on the left to learn more about how DB2 Universal Database can help you turn data into information. |
