Installation and Configuration Supplement

Types of Distributed Installation

DB2 products can be installed using systems management software, such as Microsoft Systems Management Server (SMS) on Windows NT or Windows 2000, or simply with a shared CD-ROM drive or shared network hard drive using response files.

Figure 00002674 not displayed.

We recommend installing from a network hard drive rather than a CD-ROM, especially if you use the CD-ROM drive for other tasks. Installing from a network CD-ROM drive will significantly increase the amount of time it will take to perform the install.
