Configuring DB2 Communications for Local Instances

To configure communications for local instances, perform the following steps:

Step  1.

Start the Control Center. For more information, see Starting the DB2 Control Center.

Step  2.

Click on the [+] beside a system's name to get the instances folder.

Step  3.

Select either the Databases or Gateway Connections folder and click on the [+] beside the Instances folder to get a list of instances on a particular system.

Step  4.

Select the instance that you want to configure and click on the right mouse button.

Step  5.

Select the Setup communications option from the pop-up menu. The Setup communications window opens.

Step  6.

Use the Setup communications window to configure communication protocols for the instance that you selected. Invoke the online help by clicking on the Help push button or by pressing the F1 key.

Step  7.

You must stop and start the instance for these changes to take effect.

  1. To stop the database manager instance, select the instance, click with the right mouse button and select the Stop option from the pop-up menu.
  2. To start the database manager instance, select the instance, click with the right mouse button and select the Start option from the pop-up menu.
