The DB2 OLAP Starter Kit is a subset of the function in IBM DB2 OLAP Server and is provided free in DB2 Universal Database. You can use the desktop interface provided by the DB2 OLAP Integration Server to develop OLAP applications, and analyze the applications using the Spreadsheet Add-ins in Microsoft Excel or Lotus 1-2-3. The Spreadsheet Add-ins are included with the Starter Kit.
The applications that you can create are OLAP applications with limited users and scope. If you like the DB2 OLAP Starter Kit and want to expand the use and scope of your OLAP applications, you can purchase the full-function IBM DB2 OLAP Server and the full-function DB2 OLAP Integration Server.
