Setting DB2 Universal Database for OS/390 Control Center properties

Use the OS/390 page of the Tools Settings notebook to define an identifier template or to select a previously defined identifier template that will be used to create an identifier for each DB2 Universal Database for OS/390 utility.

Fields and controls

To set a utility ID template:

  1. Open the OS/390 page of the Tools Settings notebook.
  2. Optional: Select the Edit Utility ID each time utility runs check box to have the opportunity to modify the utility identifier each time a utility is executed.
  3. The Utility ID template field shows the current template for identifying DB2 for OS/390 utilities. To open a Change Utility ID Template window to select from a list of symbolic variables, click the push button .

    The template can consist of literals and symbolic names. The resolved length of each utility identifier can be no longer than 16 characters. Symbolic names start with an ampersand (&) and end in a period (.). If you do not create an identifier template, the Control Center generates a default utility ID from the date and timestamp.
