Specifying options for importing ASC data

Use the Import ASC File Type Modifiers window to specify options for importing nondelimited ASCII (ASC) data.

Fields and controls

To specify options for ASC data:

1. Optional: Select any of the file type modifiers that you want to use:
   • Do not recognize character x'1A' as the end-of-file character (NOEOFCHAR)
   • Truncate trailing blank spaces when importing into variable-length database field (STRIPTBLANKS)
   • Truncate trailing nulls (0x00 characters) when importing into variable-length database field (STRIPTNULLS)
2. Optional: In the Record length in characters box, specify the number of characters to read for each row.
3. Click on OK to return to the File page.
