Setting the execution starting point for a satellite

Use the Set Execution Starting Point window to specify that you want a satellite to begin executing the batches for the group at a different batch step than the other satellites in the group. Only use this window with satellites that were already executing batches when they joined the group.

When you complete the steps for this task, return to Deploying a new group, and continue with the next step.

Fields and controls

To set the execution starting point for a satellite:

1. Disable the satellite from executing batches.
2. Open the Set Execution Starting Point window.
   1. In the Setup batch and step field, use the ... push button to specify the batch step that you want the satellite to begin executing from, if necessary.
   2. In the Update batch and step field, use the ... push button to specify the batch step that you want the satellite to begin executing from, if necessary.
   3. In the Cleanup batch and step field, use the ... push button to specify the batch step that you want the satellite to begin executing from, if necessary.
3. Click OK.
4. Enable the satellite to execute batches.
