Using the Information Center

Use the information center to find information about tasks, books, reference material, troubleshooting, sample programs, and related Web sites.

Fields and controls



To find and view an item of information using the Information Center:

  1. Choose whether you want to view the information by title or by category and select the corresponding push button. To expand a category, click the plus sign beside it.
  2. Find the topic that you want in the list. Some items have descriptions that are displayed in the status line at the bottom of the window when they are selected.
    Note:If you know part of the title of an item, you can search for it by selecting Edit --> Find. Use the Find window to search for the desired item within the Information Center

    If more than one item matches the characters, select Edit --> Find Next to move from one item to the next.

    The Find feature in the Information Center allows you to look for a specific topic from among the list of topics included in the Information Center. To search the entire DB2 document library, follow the hypertext link beneath the By Title push button to go to the DB2 online information search form.

  3. Once you have selected an item, double-click the desired item and a Web browser will start and display the information that you want.
