Modifying containers

For single-partition database environments only. Use the Containers page of the Restore Database to New notebook to specify that you want to modify containers during the restore to new database operation.

To modify containers:

  1. Open the Restore to New Database notebook.
  2. On the Backup Image page, specify the backup image that you want to use to restore the database:
  3. On the Description page:
    1. Type the name of the database that you want to create in the New database name field.
    2. Type the drive on which the database is to reside in the Default drive field. (For UNIX-based systems, this field is called Default directory.)
    3. Type an alias for the database in the Alias field.
    4. Type a comment for the database in the Comment field.
  4. On the Containers page, click Redirect table space containers, then click one or more of the following to specify the type of container modification that you want to perform during roll-forward recovery:
  5. On the Roll-Forward page, clear the Leave in roll-forward pending state check box. This makes the database usable immediately after the restore operation. (By default, this check box is on).
  6. Click OK to create the database.
