Creating a satellite

Use the Create Satellite notebook to create the satellites that will be the members of the group.

If you are creating a new group, when you complete the steps for this task, return to Deploying a new group, and continue with the next step.

Fields and controls



To create a satellite:

  1. Open the Create Satellite notebook.
  2. In the Satellite ID field, specify the name of the satellite.
  3. In the First name field, specify the first name of the person to whom the satellite will be assigned.
  4. In the Last name field, specify the last name of the person to whom the satellite will be assigned.
  5. Optional: In the Subgroup field, specify the subgroup to which the satellite belongs.

    If you do not want all the satellites to begin executing the production batches, you can use a common characteristic that applies to a subset of the satellites to begin the roll out. Often, this characteristic will be a common value that is displayed under the Subgroup column.

  6. Click OK.
