Use this window to view the properties of the selected spatial reference system. You cannot change the values of these properties. If you want to change any property of an existing spatial reference system, you must first delete the spatial reference system using the Delete push button in the Spatial References window and click the Create push button to re-create it with new property values.
Name
The name of the spatial reference system. You cannot change this field.
ID
The identifier associated with this spatial reference system. You cannot change this field.
This ID is used to associate spatial data columns with the transformations that you specify in this window.
Transformations
The Offset and Scale fields display the values of the offsets and scales used for each of the three spatial dimensions (X, Y, and Z) and for the linear reference system (if any). You cannot change these fields.
These offset and scale values are applied to all spatially enabled columns that share the spatial reference ID. A linear reference represents a feature such as a mileage post along a road.
The offset for a dimension (or for the linear reference measure) is the amount that will be added to the coordinate for that dimension (or linear reference).
The scale for a dimension is the factor by which coordinates for that dimension will be multiplied.
Coordinate reference system
This box displays the name of the coordinate reference system for this spatial reference system. You cannot change this value.
The coordinate reference system is used for mapping between a curved coordinate system and a planar coordinate system. It provides locale-specific information about how to project locations on the three-dimensional Earth onto a two-dimensional map.
