Use this window to see a list of the spatial indexes that are defined for spatial columns of the selected table layer. You can define new spatial indexes, view properties of defined spatial indexes, or delete spatial indexes.
A spatial index is an index created on a spatial data column that is registered as a spatial layer. For information on how to use spatial indexes for improving query performance, see the DB2 Spatial Extender User's Guide and Reference.
Spatial indexes
This box lists the spatial indexes that are defined on the table. You can select a spatial index that you want to view the definition of or that you want to drop. Click Create to define a new spatial index on this table.
Create
Click this push button to open a window where you can create a new spatial index for the table.
View
Click this push button to open a window where you can see the details of the selected spatial index. This push button is only available when one spatial index is selected.
Drop
Click this push button to drop any of the selected spatial indexes. A confirmation window will open for you to confirm the dropping of the indexes before the spatial indexes are actually deleted from the system.
