Use the Subject Area notebook to define a subject area, which identifies and groups processes that relate to a logical area of the business.
For example, if you are warehousing sales and marketing data, you define a Sales subject area and a Marketing subject area. You then add the processes relating to the sales data to the Data Warehouse Center tree under the Sales subject area. Similarly, you add the definitions relating to the marketing data under the Marketing subject area.
You must define a subject area before you create a process. Any user can define or edit a subject area.
After you define a subject area, it is displayed under the Subject Areas folder in the Data Warehouse Center tree. You can edit the subject area to change its properties.
