Starting a step upon successful completion of another step

Use the Process Model window to specify that a step be started upon successful completion of another step.

For example, you can specify that the target table of one step is the source table for a second step. You can use the Process Model window to specify that the second step is to start only if the first step runs successfully, thus maintaining data integrity.

To start a step when another step runs successfully:

  1. Open the Process Model window.

  2. Click (the Data Link icon).

  3. Click (the On Success icon).

  4. Click the step that is to run first.

  5. Hold down the mouse button and drag the mouse to the step that is to run after the first step.

  6. Release the mouse button.

A green arrow that represents the task flow is displayed on the canvas between the two icons.

  7. Click Process --> Save to save the changes that you have made to the process.
