Modifying the current utility ID
You can use utility ID window to define or
modify the name to be used to identify the
currently selected DB2 for OS/390 utilities.
These steps are part of the larger task of
running utilities. When you complete the
steps for changing the utility ID, return
to the current utility.
To create or change a utility ID template:
- In the Utility ID field, type an identifier, or accept the
current value. This utility ID is used to
identify the currently selected utility.
The resolved length of
the utility identifier can be no longer than
16 characters. If you do not create your own identifier,
the Control Center generates a default utility
ID from the date and timestamp. The default
format is CCMMddhhmmssuuu, where:
CC is the Control Center, MM is the month (01-12), dd is the day (01-31), hh is the hour, mm is the minute, ss is the second and uuu is the first 3 digits of a 6 digit microsecond.
- Optional: Select the Do not display again check box to use the current utility ID,
which is generated from a utility template
for each subsequent utility. You will not
have the opportunity to modify the subsequent
identifiers again unless you reset this option
by updating the properties on the OS/390
page in the Tools Settings notebook.
Note: If there is an error when expanding
the template, the utility ID window will
be displayed even though the check box is
checked.
- Click OK to continue executing the utility.
