Displaying generation data sets

Use the Show Generation Data Sets window to view the members of the currently selected generation data group.

A generation data group (GDG) is a collection of historically related non-VSAM data sets. They are arranged in chronological order within the group. Each data set within the group is a generation data set (GDS).


Authorities and privileges for data sets originate in the MVS environment.

To view generation data sets:

1. Open the Show Generation Data Sets window
   
   
2. Select a row that appears in the table. Each row represents a generation data set (GDS) of the currently selected generation data group (GDG). Right-click on the selected row to see a pop-up menu with actions appropriate for this member.
   
   
3. Click on a menu choice to open the associated window. You can Delete the selected data set from the data group.
   
   
4. Click Close to close the window.
