Defining or Viewing Properties of a folder in the Customized Tree

Use the Properties window to define or view the properties of a DB2 object type in the Control Center's customized tree.

Authorities and privileges

To define or view the properties:

  1. Open the Properties window.

  2. The Folder name field contains the name that you defined for this folder. The name appears as a folder on the tree and represents your selected object type and the members of that object that you have defined. You can change the name by typing in the field.

  3. The Object type field shows you all the objects that you have defined for this folder.

  4. Specify criteria from columns in the DB2 catalog tables for a set of objects to be represented by the current folder. The result of this search criteria is the content of your folder.

    1. Use the Column, Comparison, and Values fields to specify criteria for up to five different catalog columns.

    2. Select a radio button to specify whether to meet all the conditions selected in the fields on the Locate page, or meet at least one of the conditions. Meet all conditions is equivalent to adding an and between the search criteria, and Meet any conditions is equivalent to adding an or between the search criteria.

  5. Optional: If Indexs or Table Spaces is specified in the Object type field, in the Object state filters box:

    1. Specify a filter for the index or table space.

    2. Depending on the type of filter you specified in the above field, you can add further criteria as needed to determine if some utility should be run against the index or table space. Each filter type determines what other parameters you need to provide to define an adequate search. See the example of using the locate window with utility output criteria for more information.

  6. Optional: Customize your search. Select the Advanced tab to change the WHERE clause generated from your choices on the Locate page. You can derive your own WHERE clause, or add more predicate columns to the existing clause.

  7. Click OK to use the criteria that you selected and close the Properties notebook. The result of your search is contained in the folder that appears on the tree when you close this window.
