Displaying utilities status
Use the Display Utility window to show the current status of any
running utilities jobs. The window is divided into two parts. The top part of the window is a
list of the running utilities. The bottom part of the window shows the result of a display output, which is a series of DSNU... informational messages.
Authorities and privileges

To display utility status:
-
Open the Display Utility window.
- Click Refresh to show the most recent utility status.
- Optional: Restart or terminate utility. Right-click
on one or more utilities to display a pop-up
menu.
- Select Terminate utility to open the Terminate Utility confirmation
window to terminate the selected utility. When you terminate a utility you terminate
the execution of a DB2 utility job step
and
release all resources associated with the
step. When executing, a utility does not
terminate until it checks to see that a
terminate
command was issued. Active utilities perform
this check periodically. If the utility
is
stopped, all its resources are released
by
a terminate command. An active utility
can
be terminated only from the DB2 on which
it is running. Once you have terminated
a
utility, it cannot be restarted. You must
resubmit the utility by selecting the utility
from the appropriate object's pop-up menu.
- Select Restart and then either Current or Phase to restart a utility that is in a stopped
state, and that was originally started using
the Control Center. Selecting Current restarts a utility from the last committed
point. Selecting Phase restarts a utility from the last committed
phase. You can use these menu choices to
restart only utilities that were started
from the Control Center. If you attempt to
restart a utility that was not originally
started using the Control Center, you will
get an informational message telling you
that no restart information was found.
- Optional: Show details for the utilities.
Right-click on one or more utilities to display
a pop-up menu. Select Show Details to open the Show Details window to show details of the selected utility.
