Creating schemas

Use the Create Schemas window to create a new schema and grant privileges on the objects included in the schema to new or existing user IDs, or to grant privileges on existing schema objects to a new or existing user ID.

Authorities and privileges

To create a schema:

1. Open the Create Schema window.
2. In the Schema name field, identify the name of the schema for whose objects you want to grant privileges by typing an existing schema name, or clicking to use the List Schema window to select an existing schema name.
3. In the User name field, identify the user ID to which to grant privileges for the objects in the schema by typing a 1-8 character user ID, or clicking the ellipsis to use the List Users window to select an existing user ID.
4. Use one of the following methods to grant privileges to the user:
   • Right-click in the cell for the privilege that you want, then select Allow, Allow with Grant, or Revoke from the menu.
     
   • Select the privileges that you want, then click either the Grant push button, the Allow push button, or the Revoke push button. You select multiple cells by holding the Ctrl key while selecting the cells.
5. Click OK to save your changes and close the window.
