Shows the database in which the recommended indexes will be created. To create indexes in a different database, return to the Control Center and select the index folder of the database in which you want indexes created.
Type the name of the workload. The name can be from 1 - 128 characters in length.
Shows the current SQL statements in the workload as well as their names and frequency. To add more statements, click Add or Import. To update the information in a statement, highlight the statement and click Change. To remove a statement, highlight the statement and click Remove.
Opens the Import SQL Statements window, from which you can import one or more SQL statements from various sources to the current workload.
Opens the Add SQL Statement window, from which you can add SQL statements to the current workload.
Select an SQL statement and click this push button to open the Change SQL Statement window.
Select an SQL statement and click this push button. The selected SQL statement will be removed from the workload.
Shows the current SQL statements in the selected workload.
Opens the Change Workload window, from which you can redefine the current workload by adding, removing, or changing SQL statements.
Opens the Create Workload window, from which you can create a new workload.
Specifies that there will be a maximum logical size of all indexes. The physical size can be slightly different depending on the platform and system settings.
Type the maximum number of megabytes that will be used for indexes. The size should be equal to or less than the size of the table space that is used to store the indexes.
Specifies that the calculation should start as soon as you click Next.
Note: Selecting this option might prevent you from doing other tasks while the wizard is running.
Specifies that the calculation should start at a later time (which you will specify in the Schedule window). Note that if you click this radio button, this becomes the last step in the wizard.
In the Schedule window, specify the date and time when you want the indexes to be calculated. A message window appears (with message number DBA1121) informing you of the job number. Note the job number, so that you can use it later to retrieve the results. Clicking this job number in the Journal reopens this wizard.
Specifies the maximum time that the server will spend calculating recommended indexes. If the specified time limit is not enough to complete the calculation, the wizard displays the best indexes that it can in the given time.
Type the number of minutes or hours and select a unit of time from the drop-down list on the right. The default value is 10 minutes.
Select a unit of time from the drop-down list. The default value is 10 minutes.
Lists the indexes that the wizard recommends for the workload, including their name, size in megabytes, whether the index already exists or not, the table name, and the index columns. Use the scroll bar to view all the recommended indexes.
Shows the length of time that your workload will run with existing indexes and with all recommended indexes, in timerons.
Opens the Workload Details window, which shows the details for each SQL statement in the workload.
Lists the indexes that are not needed for the workload that you specified. Select the check boxes of the indexes that you want to drop. Clear the check box beside any index that you want to keep.
Opens the Show Related window, which shows the related objects that might be affected by the indexes that you have selected to drop.
Clears all selected check boxes. None of the listed indexes will be dropped.
Selects all indexes that are shown in the table. All of the indexes will be dropped. Any database activity that needed those indexes will run more slowly. But the SQL statements in the specified workload will run more quickly.
Lists all of the actions to be processed when you click Finish.
