Granting the CONTROL privilege on indexes to a new group

Use the Index page of the Add Group notebook to grant the CONTROL privilege on a database's indexes to a new group of users of this database.

To grant the CONTROL privilege on indexes:

1. Open the Add Group notebook.

2. Open to the Index page by clicking on the page's tab.

3. List the indexes on which you want to grant privileges.

4. In the Index box, select the indexes on which you want to grant the CONTROL privilege.

5. Request the CONTROL privilege by either:

   • Clicking on Grant All. The CONTROL box specifiesYes.

   • Using the CONTROL box to specify Yes.

   When you click on Grant All or specify Yes, the Xs next to the selected indexes are replaced by check marks framed by corner brackets. The brackets indicate that your grant of the CONTROL privilege is pending.

6. If you didn't specify the authorization name of the group to which you're granting index privileges, you must:

   1. Open to the Database page by clicking on the page's tab.

   2. Use the Group box to specify the authorization name.

7. Click on Apply. The privileges are granted. As a sign of this, the brackets disappear, leaving the check marks unframed.

8. Optional: Grant one or more of the following types of authorizations, in any order:
   • Database authorities
   • Schema privileges
   • Table privileges
   • View privileges

9. Click on Cancel to close the Add Group notebook.
