Specifying conditions for loading data file rows into table columns

Use the Counts page of the Load notebook to specify details about the type of load and how many rows to load from the files.

To specify conditions on how the data rows will be loaded:

  1. Open the Counts page of the Load notebook.

  2. Use the Load mode list box to select the mode for loading the data into this table.

  3. Optional: Specify that a consistency point be established after every N rows by using the Save count spin button.

  4. Optional: If you selected Insert for the load mode, specify the number of data rows to skip in the data file before starting to load the data by selecting the Number of records to skip radio button and using the corresponding spin button.

  5. Optional: Specify the number of data records to be loaded by selecting the Limit the number of rows to be loaded check box and using the Row count spin button. The default is to load all rows in the specified data files.

  6. Optional: Specify a number of warnings after which the load should be stopped by using the Warning count spin button.

  7. If you have specified all required information for the load process, you can start the load process now by clicking on OK. Otherwise, to specify required or optional information, or to change default values, go to one of the other notebook pages.
