Restarting a database

Use the Restart Database window to ignore specified Table spaces while restarting a database.

This window only opens when there is a problem restarting the database.

To ignore specified Table spaces while restarting a database:

  1. Open the Restart Database window.

  2. Check the Ignore the following table spaces check box.

  3. Check the db2diag.log file to see which table space or table spaces caused the restart to fail. These table spaces should be ignored in order for the restart to be successful.

  4. Enter the name of the table space that you want ignored in the Table space field.

  5. Click the > button. The name of the Table space will appear in the list box.

  6. Repeat the above two steps for any other table spaces that you want to be ignored when the database is restarted.

  7. Click OK to restart the database while ignoring the specified table spaces.
