Granting the CONTROL privilege on indexes

To grant the CONTROL privilege on an index:

1. List the index:

   1. Click on Add Index. The Add Index window opens.

   2. Use the Schema box to specify a schema that includes any indexes that you want listed. A list of the schema's indexes appears in the Index list box.

   3. Select one or more indexes.

   4. Click on Apply. The selected index or indexes are listed in the Index column. For each index listed, an X appears in the CONTROL column. In addition, the CONTROL box specifies No. The Xs and the No mean that the user referenced above the Index page doesn't have the CONTROL privilege on the indexes that you selected.

   5. Optional: Repeat steps b, c, and d to add indexes from another schema.

   6. Click on Cancel in the Add Index window. The window closes.

2. In the Index box, select the index or indexes on which you want to grant the CONTROL privilege.

3. Use one of these methods to request the privilege:

   • Click on Grant All. The CONTROL box specifies Yes. In the CONTROL column, check marks framed by corner brackets replace the Xs.

   • Use the CONTROL box to specify Yes. In the CONTROL column, check marks framed by corner brackets replace the Xs.

   In both cases, the check marks framed by corner brackets mean that your grant of the CONTROL privilege is pending.

4. Click on Apply. As a sign that the CONTROL privilege has been granted, the corner brackets disappear, leaving the check marks unframed.
