Changing Batch Steps

Use the Change Batch Steps notebook to edit a script, and add properties to it so that it can be used as a batch step.
Note:You can only change the properties of a test batch step.

If you are deploying a new group, when you complete the steps for this task return to Editing an application version, and continue with the next step.

If you are creating an unassigned batch or a fix batch, when you complete the steps for this task return to Creating a batch and continue with the next step.

Fields and controls



To change a batch step:

  1. Open the Change Batch Steps notebook, if it is not already open.

  2. On the Script page:

    1. In the Name field, specify a name for the script.

    2. In the Description field, type a description for the script.

    3. In the Type box, select the radio button that applies to the script.

    4. Click Import if you want to import additional scripts from the Script Center.

    5. If you want to modify any of the scripts that are listed, edit them in the Script contents box.

    6. If the script is parameterized, select the Parameterized check box.

    7. If you want to use a character other than the back slash (\) as the continuation character for database and instance scripts, specify it in the Statement termination character field.

  3. If the script is a DB2 database or a DB2 instance script, on the Execution Target page:

    1. Specify the alias of the DB2 database or DB2 instance in the Target alias field.

      Use the ... push button to display the list of targets that are already stored in the Satellite Administration Center, or to create new targets.

    2. Specify the name of the authentication credentials under which the script will execute in the Authentication field.

      Use the ... push button to display the list of authentication credentials that are already stored in the Satellite Administration Center, or to create new authentication credentials.

  4. On the Success Codes page, specify the success code set for the script:

    1. In the Success codes set name field, specify the name for the set.

    2. In the Description field, type a description for the named set.

    3. Use the fields in the Specify codes box to specify the success code or codes for the script.

      You can use the drop-down list on the Condition field to display the list of available conditions.

    4. Click Add to add a success code to the named set of success codes.
    Note:If you want to edit a success code, select it, then click Change. When you are finished editing the code, click Add to update the success code in the named set.

  5. Click OK.
