Promoting a satellite

When you are satisfied with the results of a fix batch, use the Promote Satellite window to return the satellite that is in the fix state to executing the group-level batches again.

If the fix batch that you applied was designed to replace a batch step that failed, you can specify that the satellite begins executing the group batches at a different batch step than the other satellites in the group.
Note:The step at which you want the satellite to begin executing a group batch depends on the state that the fix batch leaves the satellite in.

When you finish the steps for this task, you have completed Fixing a satellite.

Fields and controls



To promote a satellite:

  1. Open the Promote Satellite window.

  2. For the Setup batch and step field, use the ... push button to specify the batch step that you want the satellite to continue executing the batch from, if necessary.

  3. For the Update batch and step field, use the ... push button to specify the batch step that you want the satellite to continue executing the batch from, if necessary.

  4. For the Cleanup batch and step field, use the ... push button to specify the batch step that you want the satellite to continue executing the batch from, if necessary.

  5. Click OK.
