Reading the contents of the Access Plan page

Top area of the notebook page

The top area of the Access Plan page identifies the statement whose access plan is displayed on the graph.

This part of the page also shows:

• The statement's explain date and time
• Its total estimated cost
• The Machine class of the system in which this statement is explained. The machine class can be Uniprocessor, SMP, Cluster of uniprocessors, or Cluster of SMPs.

The Graph

The nodes in the graph represent operands (tables, indexes, or table functions), and the operators that act on them. To view detailed statistical information for a node, double-click on it.

To view the information shown in the graph in more detail, drag the zoom slider at the left-hand side of the window to the right.

Float values may be presented in scientific notation.
