Configure Multisite Update SmartGuide -- Overview

Use the Configure Multisite Update SmartGuide to configure an instance to perform a multisite transaction or update. The options you select determine whether your multisite update requires a sync-point manager.

First you specify whether a transaction processor (TP) monitor will be used to coordinate the multisite update.

If the application involved in the multisite transaction is not using a transaction processor (TP) monitor, you begin your multisite update by selecting Do not use a TP monitor. If the application involved in the multisite transaction is using a transaction processor (TP) monitor, you can begin your multisite update by selecting Use the TP monitor named below. Your selection determines the SmartGuide sequence.

Next you specify the protocol that will be involved in the multisite update. The SmartGuide sequence also differs when you select a protocol.
