Process while
Select one of the following radio buttons to specify whether the backup operation is to be done online or offline.
For information about forcing users off the database, see .
| Note: |
In a partitioned database environment, if you are performing an offline
backup of the catalog node, there can be no activity on the entire
database.
|
| Note: | You can only take an online backup if the database or the database partition is enabled for forward recovery; that is, either the logretain or the userexit database configuration parameter (or both) is set on,, and a full offline backup of the database or the database partition has already been taken. |
Performance
Use the following fields to specify the number and size of the buffers to be used for the backup operation. You can increase the number of buffers or the size of each buffer (or both) to cause the backup operation to complete faster. Note that increasing the value specified for either option causes the backup operation to use more memory.
