Thresholds
This section defines the thresholds or zone borders that can be used to monitor the data collected by a performance variable. There are four input fields in this section:
The first field is the Upper Alarm, which is the highest value the
monitor will return for a performance variable before issuing any upper alarm
actions set for that performance variable.
The second field is the Upper Warning, which provides a warning when a
performance variable is approaching its upper alarm value.
The third field is the Lower Warning, which provides a warning when a
performance variable is approaching its lower alarm value.
The fourth field is the Lower Alarm, which is the lowest value the
monitor will return for a performance variable before issuing any lower alarm
actions set for that performance variable.
Graph
This section is used to activate or deactivate thresholds. Colors and their intensity are significant:
Yellow indicates a warning zone.
Red indicates an alarm zone.
A bright color means a threshold has been enabled.
A dim color means a threshold has been disabled.
Each colored zone acts as a push button for activating or deactivating thresholds.
Threshold action
This section defines the actions to be taken when the value for a performance variable crosses a threshold or zone border. The Threshold action drop-down is used to select a threshold or zone border. The checkboxes identify the actions that can be taken:
Add an entry to the Alert Center.
Issue a warning beep.
Have a program or script start. The program is identified in the
field to the right of the Start script action. Available scripts are
listed in the Script Center. Select a script from the Select script window.
Have a message sent to the user. Enter an appropriate message in
the input window below the User message action.
Perform action
This section defines when the defined actions take place. The radio button selections are:
Whenever a threshold or zone border is crossed.
When a threshold or zone border has been crossed a defined number of
times. Use the up and down arrows to spin through the available
choices.
