" " Path

Use this field to identify the location (or path) where files are to be written or read. You can enter the path or use the Directories and Drives boxes to specify it.

A path begins with the letter of the disk drive followed by the names of all the directories leading to a file's storage location.

" " Directories

This box displays a list of all available directories.

When the Browse window opens, this box lists all the root directories for the disk drive that is displayed in the Drives box. You can work with the directories located on a different drive by changing the value in the Drives box.

From the list, select the directories in the path:

  1. Locate the first directory in the path and double-click on it. The selected directory and its drive are listed in the Path field, and the Directory box lists the subdirectories for the directory that you selected.

  2. Continue selecting directories until the path is complete.

" " Drives

This box displays a disk drive letter, usually representing a disk associated with your system's hard drive.

You can change the drive letter by expanding the box and double-clicking on the drive that you want. Changing the drive also changes the directories listed in the Directories box to those located on the new disk.
