Filter Tables for Nicknames -- Fields and controls

Use the Filter Tables for Nicknames window to define filter criteria for displaying table and view information in the Create Nicknames window.

Column

Click the down arrow to display a list of filter criteria and select one. You can select the same column in more then one row as needed. For example, User ID , Remote schema and Remote table name.

Comparison

Click the down arrow to display all SQL operator choices and select one. These SQL operators help you define your filter.

Values

Specify the value or values to use in the comparison for the filter. The values are case sensitive and need to follow certain syntax rules.

• Multiple values must be:

  • separated by a comma

  • delimited with a set of single quotes

  • used in a IN or NOT IN statement

• In comparisons, you can:

  • use the % wildcard character to match 0 or more characters.

  • use the _ wildcard character to match exactly one character.

For example: User ID like sm_th, Remote schema like BOB% and Remote table name = Sales 1.

Preview Table Count

Click Preview Table Count to view the number of tables that will be retrieved using your current table filter values.

Retrieve All

Click Retrieve All to retrieve all tables at the data source without using a table filter.

Apply Filter

Click Apply Filter to populate the Create Nicknames window with the tables and views based on your filter criteria.
