Type the name of the database you want to add. This name:

" " Default drive or directory

For UNIX-based implementations of DB2, this field is titled Default directory, while in OS/2 and Microsoft Windows implementations, it is titled Default drive.

For OS/2 and Windows, click on the down arrow to display a list of possible drive choices. Highlight the one you want to use.

For OS/2, if the drive you want does not appear in the list, type its letter in this field.

For UNIX, either type the directory you want to use or use the Browse button to select a directory.

" " Refresh

Select Refresh to get a list of all the remote databases for the instance you are in. This method of discovering databases is only available when the DISCOVER configuration parameter for the instance is set to either known or search.

" " Database alias

A database alias is an alternate name for a database. Enter the database alias you want to use in the Alias field. If an alias is not entered, the alias will be the same as the database name. The alias:

" " Comment

Use the Comment field to specify a comment for the database. The maximum length for a comment is 30 characters.
