When using OS authentication on AIX, DB2 Universal Database (UDB) attempts to report a successful login to AIX upon successful authentication during 5a connection attempt. Prior to Version 8 FixPak 5, if DB2 UDB was unable 5to report a successful login, the connection would fail despite the user being 5authenticated. Starting with Version 8 FixPak 5, the connection is allowed 5to continue and the failure is logged in the db2diag.log file.
