This section describes how DB2 and MQSeries can be used to construct applications that combine messaging and database access. The focus in this section will be a set of functions, similar to User-Defined Functions (UDFs), that may be optionally enabled in DB2 Universal Database, Version 7.2. Using these basic functions, it is possible to support a wide range of applications, from simple event notification to data warehousing.
