DB2 for OS/2 v7.1 Installation Patch -- README ============================================== Since the DB2 for OS/2 v7.1 GA release, several customers have reported a problem where CID based installations (aka "silent installs") return as successful shortly after the installation process is started, even though the installation continues in the background. The files contained within this archive constitute a patch to fix this problem. Please follow the steps below to successfully replace the necessary files: 0) Copy the DB2 CD you wish to install to a storage device with sufficient capacity for the copy to complete. Note that you cannot patch the files directly to the DB2 CD-ROM disc. 1) Unzip the Installation Patch archive. This will create a directory called DB2PATCH.OS2 2) Switch into the DB2PATCH.OS2 directory, and run the following command: REPLACE * /S ...where is the root of the path you copied the DB2 installation media to. 3) You may now follow the silent install directions as outlined in the DB2 for OS/2 _Quick Beginnings_ document.
