Set the font to monospace to better view this file. This CD-ROM contains the PDF version of only the DB2 books that have been updated to include Version 7.2 information, as well as any new FixPak 4 information. The other Version 7.1 books, available on the PDF CDs in the product boxes and from the DB2 website, can be used with Version 7.2. Refer to the release notes on this CD for additional information on these books. The DB2 Universal Database and DB2 Connect Support site is updated regularly. Check http://www.ibm.com/software/data/db2/udb/winos2unix/support for the latest information. This README describes the contents and directory structure of this CD-ROM. The DB2 books on this CD-ROM are provided in several languages. CD-ROM Directory Structure The PDF files on this CD-ROM have an extension of ".pdf" and are located in one of the following directories: On UNIX-based systems: /cdrom/doc// On OS/2 and Windows operating systems: x:\doc\\ Where: x: refers to your CD-ROM drive (Windows and OS/2) /cdrom refers to your mount point (UNIX) refers to the language directory, and named with one of the following two character codes: BG Bulgarian BR Brazilian Portuguese CZ Czech CN Simplified Chinese DE German DK Danish EN English ES Spanish FI Finnish FR French GR Greek IL Hebrew HU Hungarian IT Italian JP Japanese KR Korean NL Dutch NO Norwegian PL Polish PT Portuguese RU Russian SI Slovenian SE Swedish TR Turkish TW Traditional Chinese Notes: 1. The directory names may appear in uppercase or lowercase, depending on your operating system. 2. All of the directories listed above may not appear on this CD-ROM since all language directories are not available on all CD-ROMs. 3. Not all DB2 books that are viewable from this CD-ROM are translated into all the supported languages. If a book is translated into a particular language, then it is in the language directory specific to that language. This means, for example, that the English language books are in the \doc\en directory on Windows and OS/2, and in the /doc/en directory on UNIX, whereas the French books are in the \doc\fr directory on Windows and OS/2, and in the /doc/fr directory on UNIX. DB2 Publications The following list shows the DB2 books that are on this CD-ROM, and the filename for each book. Administration Guide: Planning db2d1x71 Administration Guide: Implementation db2d2x71 Administration Guide: Performance db2d3x71 Application Building Guide db2axx71 Application Development Guide db2a0x71 Command Reference db2n0x71 Data Recovery and High Availability Guide and db2hax70 Reference DB2 Life Sciences Data Connect Planning, Installation, db2lsx70 and Configuration Guide DB2 Release Notes relnotes DB2 Warehouse Manager Installation Guide db2idx72 Data Warehouse Center Administration Guide db2ddx71 Message Reference Volume 1 db2m1x71 Message Reference Volume 2 db2m2x71 SQL Reference, Volume 1 and 2 db2s0x71 Not all of the books are translated into all of the supported languages. The translated books become available at different times so the CD-ROM may not have all the languages in which DB2 is offered. The sixth character in a book's filename identifies the language of the book. Following are the identifiers used in the 6th position, represented by "x" in the above list, to identify a book in another language. For example, the Command Reference in English has the filename db2n0e71; in French, it is db2n0f71.
