3and UNIX-based operating systems:
3
- 3Multisite update (two-phase commit) capability using SNA cannot be
3used. Applications that require multisite update (two-phase commit)
3must use TCP/IP connectivity. Multisite update (two-phase
3commit) using TCP/IP to a host or iSeries(TM) database server has been
3available for several releases. Host or iSeries applications that
3require multisite update (two-phase commit) support can use the new capability
3of TCP/IP multisite update (two-phase commit) support within DB2 Universal
3Database ESE Version 8.
- 3DB2 Universal Database ESE or DB2 Connect EE servers no longer accept
3client connections using SNA. As of Version 8 FixPak 1, DB2 Universal
3Database allows the 32-bit version of AIX, Solaris(TM) Operating Environment,
3HP-UX, and Windows-based applications to access host- or iSeries-based
3database servers using SNA. This support will allow applications access
3to host or iSeries database servers using SNA, but using only one-phase
3commit.
- 3Sysplex support with DB2 Universal Database for z/OS(TM) is only available
3using TCP/IP. Sysplex support is not provided using SNA
3connectivity.
- 3Change password support is no longer available using SNA connectivity to
3host database servers.
- 3All SNA support will be withdrawn in the next version of DB2 Universal
3Database and DB2 Connect.
